NATO’s REGEX 14 Exercise With 12 Partner Countries to Kick Off in Turkey Monday
Turkey is preparing to host the 14th planning workshop of NATO’s collective regional exercise (REGEX-14), which is to start in Istanbul on Monday, the Turkish General Staff said in a statement.
The Turkish military said the war games, to run from October 20-24, were aimed at strengthening the cooperation of country participants.
Azerbaijan, Algeria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Mauritania, Montenegro, Republic of Moldova, the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Pakistan, Serbia, and Ukraine will take part in the drills at the Ataturk Wargaming and Convention Center.
A total of 143 personnel are expected to gather in Istanbul for the drills, including 84 Turkish representatives, 11 military from the rest of NATO member countries, as well as 48 people from partner countries.
The NATO military alliance is comprised of 28 member countries and 22 partner countries.
